 Places To Visit In Kashmir

                      

           Kashmir happens to be one of the most visited places in the world.  It has almost everything to offer to a nature lover, from its snow covered peaks, gushing streams, glistening lakes to spectacular Mughal gardens.  Besides having plethora of natural beauty, the place is home to historical temples, sufi shrines and forts. Adding to its beauty is the charm of flavourful Kashmiri cuisine, Almonds, grapes and apples of surrounding green orchards.

Kashmir as a whole is a tourist site to explore but here I am highlighting some of the famous places that you shouldn't miss during your trip to valley.

      

1. Gulmarg.

          Gulmarg is the crown in the glory of J&K. It is located at the distance of 55 kms from the main city of srinagar. Although it stays impressive throughout the year but it has something delightful to offer during winters. Its snow covered mountains and lofty trees evoke sense of wonder. The cable car (Gondola) journey through fresh loaded green jungle upto highest peak of afarwat gives unforgettable experience & makes one realise what really heaven looks like. The place happens to be a wonderful ski resort for its powdery ski runs and snowboarding activities. Skiers across the globe participate take part and enjoy the race course on its fun slopes.

            Gulmarg is one of the finest tourist place  based at the Mid of Affarwat mountain. Famous for it's snow and cabelcars skies and Glaciers.

 During October to February their is a 7 to 14 foot thick layer of snow with a great scenes. It has a great weather and greenery after the snow with some natural category of flowers and the fantastic views.

2. Pahalgam

           This is very attractive area at the foots of mountains .pahalgam is famous for it's rivers ,golf course,people,and horseridings 

 Pahalgam is located at the distance of 90 kms from the main city of Srinagar. It is a famous hill station in J&K where many movies of bollywood have been filmed. Standing at the junction of lidder liver and sheshnag, this place is surrounded by thickly wooded pine forests, breathtaking vistas of meadows and the snow-clad Himalayan mountains. Pahalgam is famous for it's rivers ,golf course, people,and horseriding.

3.Sonmarg

         Sonmarg-" meadow of gold": Sonmarg is located at the distance of 80 kms from Srinagar. The drive is worth because beautiful Himalayan peaks surrounding you while chasing snow capped mountains. The hill station is home to variety of peaks such as kolhai peak, Amarnaath peak and sirbal peak. Enormous and blessed with magnificent beauty at the altitude of 9000 feet is the site for mountaineers called thajiwas glacier.

  

4. Dal Lake

Dal lake: Commonly called jewel in the crown of Kashmir's beauty. 

Dal lake is the most popular tourist attraction in Srinagar. It is surrounded by pir panjal mountains and Mughal gardens which include (Nishat garden, Shalimar garden, Tulip garden and cheshmai shahi). . This place is ideal to visit for vacationers, honeymoon couples and solo travellers. Present in its centre is the small island having four chinar trees at the corners hence the name "Char chinari". The shikaras sailing on the lake are one of the major eye catching attractions besides houseboats which are meant for best accommodation. One of the easiest ways to explore this lake from withing is to take a shikara ride. Renting a shikara, one can explore floating shops, villages, morning vegetable market and other hidden beauties of the lake.
